




Andrew is delighted to be Director of Research and Development for not-for-profit group, DevelopMed. His present project interests include the development and quality of learning and training resources to aid safe and effective use of DevelopMedās surgical tools.
Andrew has read Medicine at Cardiff University since 2003. He was awarded a First-class Honours BSc degree in Public Health in 2006. He has since developed a research portfolio with interests including the information needs of oncology and obstetrics and gynaecology patients, the training of healthcare professionals in overseas countries, interprofessional working relationships and pelvic examination teaching skills.
His laboratory interests are focussed towards gene expression changes as they relate to gynaecologic oncogenesis. This work is carried out during visiting international scholar appointments and ongoing collaboration with H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Research Centre, USA.
He was awarded the prestigious Ewen Maclean Research Scholarship from the University of Wales in 2008 to pursue Master of Philosophy research in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff University, UK.
Passionate for change in the quality of healthcare and improving patient safety, Andrew is proud to lead the Wales Chapter for Healthcare Improvement in collaboration with the 1000 Lives Campaign team in Wales and the Institute of Healthcare Improvement, Boston, MA. Immediate Past Chair of the Wales Healthcare Student Forum, Welsh Assembly Government, he continues to support and develop interprofessional learning opportunities for healthcare students in Wales. He is a co-opted member of the Board at the Centre for the Advancement of Inter-Professional Education (CAIPE).
