Asher is highly delighted to be duly elected as Director of Project Management and Public relations for the not-for-profit group, DevelopMed. He has special interests in communication, team working, research and project leadership and is excited to be part of the team.
Asher read Medicine at Barts and the London school of medicine and Dentistry in London, and qualified in 2007 with distinctions in medical science, clinical science and clinical practice. He was also awarded a First-class Honours for a BSc degree in Biomedical Engineering in 2006, and has since been practice as a hospital doctor in the greater London area.
Over the years, Asher was awarded a number of prestigious prizes and scholarships in recognition of research and academic excellence. These include the prestigious Harvey Minasian award for outstanding academic achievement throughout all 5 years of medicine, Anthony J Williams memorial prize in human sciences, and Salters’/Cass Leap Business award for the development and business plan of the ‘eye kiwi’, designed for use in the world’s poorest countries.
Asher has also developed a good foundation research portfolio with interests including biomechanical characterisation and tissue engineering, Breast cancer surgical oncology and outside interests in interprofessional working relationships and teaching and training of medical and non-medical related professionals.
Currently working as an SHO doctor in the NHS, Asher has served in many placements from General surgery and Trauma and Orthopaedics to Intensive Care and A&E. He continues to develop skills both inside and outside the field of medicine, and is always committed to clinical excellence and maintaining high standards of clinical care.
