George is excited and honoured to be part of the not-for-profit research group, DevelopMed. His primary interests lie in product innovation, patents, neuroscience and computer programming (java, javascript, html, C++). Whilst working in a rural hospital in Rwanda, George's exposure to maternal and infant morbidity and mortality impassioned him to improve health resources for the less advantaged.
George is currently in his final year of medicine at Cardiff University. He previously attained a First-class Honours BSc in Neuroscience, awarded in 2007. His thesis focused on neuronal growth factors in development. He continues to build on his extensive experience in the laboratory research environment and is currently working with stem cells for potential neural replacement therapies. He has a keen interest in clinical applications of neuroscience and in 2008 presented some of his research on motor cortex stimulators at the international neuromodulation society's conference.
George is frequently liaising with patent attorneys, mechanical and biomedical engineers and healthcare professionals to progress current projects and to source new ideas. Through DevelopMed, George combines his interests in medicine, research and invention with his passion for helping the less fortunate.
