Managing Director

Rob founded DevelopMed in 2006 after identifying a possible solution to a problem a colleague had whilst working in a Rwandan hospital. He has since built a multi-disciplinary research group comprising of experts in developing world medicine, medical engineering, research and development and business start-up financing.

Education and Research

Rob gained a First-class Honours BSc in Biomedical Engineering at Queen Mary University as an intercalated degree in between studying Medicine at Cardiff University. Rob is currently working as a doctor at University Hospital Wales within the Trauma and Orthopaedics department. His research interests include the development of tissue engineered articular cartilage and the creation of educational resources related to medical engineering. At present Rob is studying Conflict and Catastrophe medicine in order to prepare for further work in the developing world.

Professional roles

Within his role at DevelopMed Rob has been fortunate enough to combine two professional interests, developing world medicine and medical engineering. He has been key in coordinating successful financing agreements between LEAP, Finance Wales and Cardiff University.
